Stepping Up For MQ Mental Health Research: Our 24-Mile Sponsored Walk
We did it!
This week our team John Chadwick, Balazs Darnoi, Mitch Francis successfully completed a 24-mile sponsored walk in aid of MQ Mental Health Research alongside our team mascot Jasper the dog. This walk was part of MQ’s ’24 in 24′ campaign; an initiative which challenges participants to use the number 24 as inspiration to raise vital funds for mental health research.
The Challenge!
The first leg of the walk began with an 8-mile stretch around Delamere Forest and the second leg took place on a picturesque 7-mile circular route around Alwyn Reservoir in the Denbigh Moors. Our final challenge was a 10-mile circular walk around the beautiful Llyn Brenig. This concluding leg was challenging and but extremely rewarding even if Jasper the dog did chase a few sheep along the way!
About MQ Mental Health Research
This area of research is particularly close to our hearts at Planned Future. Our Managing Director, John Chadwick has always been open about his personal struggles with mental health.
His journey and openness have inspired us to give back to a cause that is meaningful to him and to many others. By supporting MQ Mental Health Research, we aim to contribute to an organisation that seeks to understand, treat, and improve the lives of those affected by mental health issues.
Why MQ Mental Health Research?
MQ Mental Health Research is a leading charity dedicated to transforming mental health through research. They fund groundbreaking research into mental health conditions to better understand their causes, develop effective treatments, and improve the quality of life for those affected.
By bridging the gap between scientific research and patient care, MQ Mental Health Research is paving the way for a future where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health.
A Huge Thank You!
Thanks to the incredible support from our friends, family, and community, we have raised £725 for MQ Mental Health Research. This achievement would not have been possible without your generous contributions.
We are extremely grateful for everyone’s support throughout this journey as well as the words of encouragement which have been great motivation for us.
We hope this challenge has successfully raised awareness for mental health research and that our donation to MQ will help improve the future of understanding and treating mental health.
